HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - O-78-152 - 06/19/1978 - ANNEXING CONE PROPERTY IN HAY HEIGHTS0-152 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, a Petition requesting annexation of the territory hereinafter described has been filed with the city Clerk; and aHEREAS, said Petition of Annexation was duly and properly signed under oath orge F. Cone and Doris M. Cone, his wife, and WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is not part of any Public Library District, Hay Avenue is not a township road, and fire protection service is not furnished by the City of McHenry, so that notices are not required to be given to any library district, fire protection district or township road district; and WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is not located within the corporate limits of any municipality but is contiguous to the City of McHenry, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities find that all steps and proceedings necessary fcrthe purpose of authorizing that the said territory may be annexed have been complied with; and WHEREAS, the annexation of said territory would promote the public welfare and common good, and is in the best interests of the City of McHenry, Illinois. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, ILI ')IS, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the territory described as follows, to wit: Lot 14 in Block 2 in Hay Heights, a subdivision of Lots 3 to 8 in Kelter Estates Subdivision, unit 2, a subdivision of the part of the East Half of Sec. 4, Township 45 N. Range 8 East of the 3rd Principle Meridian, according to the Plat thereof recorded May 10, 1955 as Document Number 292394 in Book 12 of Plats, Page 25 in McHenry County, Illinois and all adjacent streets and by -ways to the opposite side thereof be and the same are hereby annexed to the City of McHenry, Illinois. Section 2. That the boundary lines of the City of McHenry be and they are hereby enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries the above -described territory and all streets and highways to the far side thereof that may be adjacent to the above described territory. Section 3. That a certified copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory hereby annexed, shall be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of McHenry County, Illinois. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval according to law. PASSED this 19th day of June , 1978.
