McHenry Ordinance No. 0-ZT
AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF McHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 14 of the Municipal Code, City of
McHenry, TITUFFils., be and the same is hereby amended by
adding thereto the following Section 7.1:
SECTION 7.1 Minimum Floor Space Requirements.
Henceforth, no wilding permit for new residential
construction shall be granted unless the floor
area of the proposed residential construction shall
equal or exceed the amount of the square footage
hereinmfter indicated opposite the residential use
for which the permit is being sought:
Type of Residential
Construction
Single Family Dwelling
Multi -Family Dwelling,
1 bedroom
Multi -Family Dwelling,
2 bedrooms
Condominium Units
Efficiency Apartment
Minimum Square Feet of
Habitable Livinar Space
1000 Square Feet
650 Square Feet
775 Square Feet
900 Square Feet
550 Square Feet
SECTION 2. Any person violating the provisions of
this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than
$500.00, and each day any violation shall continue consti-
tutes a separate offense.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from an after its passage, approval and publication
as required by law.
