EE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of McHenry,
N - enry County, Illinois, as follows:
_Section 1. Section VIII of the Subdivision Ordinance
.f the City of McHen-ry, Illinois, be and the same is hereby
arner,ded in the following particulars:
(a) P ai agraph E l(c) shall read as follows:
Seconcary street - corw�ercial : Shall have a right-
of-way of not less than 76 feet and the paved
surface thereof shall be 56 feet in width, back
to hack with cLrb and gutter.
(b) Paragraph E 1(d) shall read as follows:
Collector street -commercial: Shall have a right -
of -sway of not less than 66 feet, with a paved
surface 50 feet in width, back to back to curb
and gutter.
(c) Paragraph E .1(f) shall read as follows:
Minor streets shall have a right-of-way of not
less than 60 feet, with a paved surface 27 feet
in width, back to back to curb and gutter;
there shall be a 16-1/2 foot tree bank on either
side of the raved surface.
(d) Paragraph E 1(g) shall be and the same is hereby
anended to change the right-of-way to not less
than 50 feet, the paved area to 27 feet in width
and the tree bank to 11-1/2 feet on either side
of the paved surface and change the word radius to diameter.
(e) Paragraph E 2(a) shall read as follows:
Major streets and secondary commercial streets
shall have a compacted gravel base 10 inches in
thickness, either grade 7 or 9. The secondary
residential, collector residential, collector
commercial, minor street and cul de sacs shall
have a compacted gravel base 10 inches in thick-
ness, either grade 7 or 9.
(f) Paragraph E 2(c) shall read as follows:
Major, secondary residential, secondary commer-
cial, collector commercial and collector resi-
dential streets: The bituminous surface on
these streets shall consist of a 3 inch double
layer. 2" binder, 1" surface.
(g) Paragraph E 2(d) shall read as follows:
Minor streets and cul de sacs shall be required
to meet the same material specifications and
other requirements, except that the surface shall
be a 2-1/2 inch double layer. 1-1/2" binder, 1"
surface.
(h) Paragraph E 3(c) shall read as follows:
Where abutting lots equal or exceed the one-half
acre area and are not required to be improved
with curb and gutters, the paved portion of the
right-of-way shall be 24 feet in width, and 7 foot
shoulders on both sides, graveled, shall be in-
stalled. Such paved surfaces shall be 2-1/2 inch
double layer construction with 10 inch base;
1-1/2" binder, 1" surface.
(i) Paragraph E 4(d) (5) shall be and the same is hereby
amended to require sanitary sewers to be located
in the center of the right-of-way.
(j) Paragraph E 6(d) (2) Water Main Design shall read as
follows: Fire hydrants with auxiliary valves shall be
Traverse City type, provided in accordance with the
recommendations of the National Board of Underwriters,
but in no case shall the spacing of said fire hydrants
be greater than four hundred (400) feet.
(k) Paragraph E 6(d) (6) shall read as follows:
Water mains shall be located in the parkway on the north
of west side of the street with a minimum to a depth
of five and one-half(5-1/2) feet of cover, and final
street grades shall be set before placing a water main.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with
the aforesaid provisions and amendments be and the same are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form
by and under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City
of McHenry, Illinois.
Section 4. This ordinance
and after its passage, approval
aforesaid according to law.
shall be in full force and effect from
and publication in pamphlet form as
