AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF MCHENRY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, a petition requesting the annexation of the territory
hereinafter described has been filed with the City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, the petitioners are the owners of record of all the
land requested by said petition to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the petition is signed by at least 51% of the electors
residing within the boundaries of the land requested to be
annexed, and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of McHenry,
Illinois, and is not within the corporate limits of any
municipality, and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities find that all steps and
proceedings necessary for the purpose of authorizing that
the said territory may be annexed have been complied with,
and
WHEREAS, the annexation of said territory to the City of
McHenry would promote the public welfare and common good.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAJOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, COUNTY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS, As
Follows:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory be
and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the
City of McHenry, Illinois: Lots 12 through 32 inclusive,
Lot 35, Lots 38 through 55 inclusive, Lot 57 and the entire
portion of Virginia Avenue in McHenry.'Golf Course Subdivision,
Fox River Addition, being a Subdivision of part of the North-
east Quarter of Section 35 and the Northwest Quarter of Section
36, Township 145 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, according to the Plat thereof recorded October 21,
1929 as Document No. 90215 in Book 8 of Plats, Page 2, in
McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 2. That the boundary lines of the City of Mc-
Henry be and they are hereby enlarged and extended to in-
clude within the corporate boundaries the above described
territory.
SECTION 3. That a certified copy of this Ordinance to-
gether Nith a map of the territory hereby annexed shall be
filed with the Recorder of Deeds of McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval according
to law.
