HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - O-76-78 - 02/02/1976 - REGS RE MASSAGE SALONAN ORDINANCE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois, as follows: SECTION 1: IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL for any establish- ment, regardless of whether it is a public or private facility, to operate as a massage salon, bath parlor, or any similar type business, where any physical contact with the recipient of such services is provided by a person of the opposite sex. This section shall not apply to a physician, surgeon, chiropractor, osteopath or physical therapist duly licensed by the State of Illinois, or to a licensed nurse acting under the direct prescription and direction of any such physician, surgeon, chiropractor or osteopath. Also, this section shall not apply to barbershops or beauty parlors in which massage is given to the scalp, the face, the neck or the shoulders. SECTION 2: Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a mis- demeanor shall be fined not less than $50.00 nor more than $500.00 and shall forfeit all City of McHenry licenses issued in connection with the premises on which the violation occurr- ed. - SECTION 3: All Ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith shall be and the same are hereby repealed.
