AN ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Illinois Revised
Statutes, Chapter 95 1/2, Section 11-209.1, the corporate
authorities of a municipality, may establish and enforce
regulations applicable to traffic on certain semipublic
or private streets, driveways or parking areas located
within the corporate limits of the municipality, upon the
filing of a written request by the owners thereon or by
the board of directors of any association representing a
residential development or apartment project whose tenants
or members use said semipublic or private streets, drive-
ways or parking areas; and,
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Northfox Con-
dominium Association, being such an association as is de-
scribed above, has filed a written request, requesting that
the police department of the City of McHenry, Illinois, en-
force parking regulations in certain areas of the Whispering
Oaks Planned Unit Development in the corporate limits of the
City of McHenry which are designated on a Map attached to said
written request; and,
WHEREAS, said written request in all respects complies
with the terms and provisions of the aforesaid statute; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the areas which are designated on the
attached Exhibit A as Area 1, Area 2, Area 3, Area 4, Area 5
and Area 6 be and the same are hereby established as fire
lanes, upon which there shall be no standing or parking of
any motor vehicle at any time so that fire fighting equipment
can move freely thereon.
SECTION 2. No person shall, at any time, park a motor
vehicle in any of the fire lane areas designated in SECTION 1
of this Ordinance.
SECTION 3. Any person parking a motor vehicle in the
above described fire lanes shall be punished as a violator of
the parking rules established by the City of McHenry Ordinance
Number MC-48, commonly known as the Motor Vehicle and Traffic
CERT. OF pUBLICATION

Regulation of the City of McHenry, Illinois, and shall be
fined, as therein provided, not less than Five Dollars
($5.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for
each violation.
SECTION 4. Validity. Should any section, clause or
provisions of this Ordinance be declared by a court of
competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such decision shall
not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or
any part thereof, other than the part so declared to be in-
valid.
SECTION 5. Any Ordinance or part of any Ordinance in
conflict herewith is hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its passage, approval, publication
and recording in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of Mc-
Henry County, Illinois, as provided by law.
