AN ORDINANCE
WHEREAS the health, welfare, safety and con-
venience of the inhabitants of the City of McHenry
is of vital and paramount concern to the corporate
authorities;
AND WHEREAS the health, welfare, safety and
convenience of the inhabitants of the City of Mc-
Henry is neither served nor promoted by strikes,
deliberate work slowdown or absenteeism by or on
the part of any employees of the City of McHenry.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR
AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That strikes, deliberate work
slowdown and absenteeism from work without cause
by any employee of the City of McHenry, be and
the same are hereby prohibited.
Section 2. Any employee of the City of Mc-
Henry who engages in a strike against the City of
McHenry, or who deliberately absents himself from
his job without cause shall be subject to the
possibility of permanent discharge from his em-
ployment with the City of McHenry.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and
publication, as by law required.
