ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF McHENRY,
ILLINOIS, AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, AND SUCH ORDI-
NANCE AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED.
WHEREAS, application has been made to amend the zoning
classifications of Lots 7 through 14 in Block 3 of Meadow Lane Subdi-
vision in the City of McHenry, Illinois, from "R-4" Multi -Family
District to "B-2" Commercial - Recreation District, and to reclassify
Lots 8, 9, 10 and 11, and the East Half of Lots 7 and 12 of Block 4 in
Meadow Lane Subdivision from "R-4" Multi -Family District to "B-1"
Commercial Retail District, and
WHEREAS, publication has been duly made and hearings have
been had thereon, and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of McHenry -
has recommended that Lots 7 through 14 in Block 3 of Meadow Lane
Subdivision be reclassified as "B-2" Commercial - Recreation District,
restricted under such classification, however, to the conduct of a motel,
restaurant and cocktail lounge business, the latter use to be permitted
only in the event a liquor license shall be issued by the City of McHenry,
and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that
Lots 8, 9, 10, 11 and the East Half of Lots 7 and 12 of Block 4 in Meadow
Lane Subdivision be reclassified as "B-1" Commercial Retail District,
with the provision that the concerned premises be used for the conduct of
service and convenience retail stores, only, with all such businesses
being conducted solely within a building, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such rezoning as recom-
mended by the Zoning Board of Appeals shall be in the best interest of the

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of
the City of McHenry, Illinois, as follows:
1. That Lots 7 through 14 in Block 3 of Meadow Lane
Subdivision be reclassified as "B-2" Commercial -
Recreation District, restricted, however, to the
conduct of a motel, restaurant and cocktail lounge
business, the latter use to be permitted only in the
event a liquor license shall be issued by the City of
McHenry.
2. That Lots 8, 9, 10, 11 and the East Half of Lots
7 and 12 of Block 4 in Meadow Lane Subdivision be
reclassified as "B-l" Commercial Retail District,
restricted, however, to the conduct of service and
convenience retail stores, only, with all such
businesses being conducted solely within a building.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval as by law
provided.
The passage of this Ordinance was moved by Smith, seconded by
Howard, and was passed by a vote of six to one. The Mayor declared
the motion passed.
