AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF McHENRY
WHEREAS, a Petition was heard by the Zoning Board of Appeals
of the City of McHenry in regard to a variation of certain provisions of
the Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry as originally passed and
approved on the 12th day of March, 1962, and as subsequently amended,
and
WHEREAS, as a result of such hearing, and in consideration of
the evidence advanced to the said Zoning Board of Appeals in regard to
said variation, a recommendation to approve the Petition was forwarded
to the City Council by the Zoning Board of Appeals, and
WHEREAS, it is the determination of the City Council that the
variation requested will be of benefit to the residents in the area and to
the municipality.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that the following des-
cribed premises be given the right of variation of the restrictions of the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry, Illinois, which will permit its
use for a two-family dwelling unit:
That part of Lot 2 in Block 1 of the Original Plat of
West McHenry described as follows: Commencing at a
point on the Northeasterly line of Main Street in the
City of McHenry, 195.45 feet Northwesterly from the
Southwesterly corner of Kent's Addition to the City of
McHenry, according to the plat thereof reco rded
February 2, 1926 as Document No. 71680, in Book 5
of Plats, page 54, for a place of beginning; thence
Northwesterly on the Northeasterly line of Main Street,
74. 25 feet to a point; thence Northeasterly on a line
forming an angle of 91 degrees 38 minutes to the right
with a prolongation of the last described line for a
distance of 115 feet to a point; thence Southeasterly
on a line drawn parallel to the Northeasterly line of
Block 1 of the Original Plat of West McHenry to a point
on a line drawn from a point on the South line of Waukegan
Road in the City of McHenry, 190. 9 feet Northwesterly of

the Northwesterly corner of Kent's Addition to the City
of McHenry aforesaid to a point on the Northeasterly
line of Main Street, 195. 45 feet Northwesterly from the
Southwesterly corner of Kent's Addition to the City of
McHenry; thence Southwesterly 110. 8 feet to the place
of beginning. Said Original Plat of West McHenry being
a Subdivision of part of Sections 26 and 35, Township
45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
according to the Plat thereof recorded June 14, 1859 in
Book 24 of Deeds, page 22, in McHenry County, Illinois.
THIS ORDINANCE shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval, as by statute provided.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 7th day of December, 1970.
