ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS
TO THE CITY OF McHENRY
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council of the
City of McHenry a proposal for annexing certain lands bordered on three
sides by premises situated within the existing corporate limits of the City
of McHenry and on the fourth side by the waters of the Fox River, and
WHEREAS, authority has been given to municipalities under
Section 7-1-13 of Chapter 24 of the revised statutes of the State of Illinois,
Illinois State Bar Edition, to annex such property after public notice has
been duly given, and
WHEREAS, such proper public notice has been given and it is
now the desire of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry to
effect annexation of the premises.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of
the City of McHenry that the following described premises be, and they
hereby are, annexed to and made a part of the City of McHenry:
Lot 43 in Owen, Stenger & Allen's First Addition to
the City of McHenry, being a Subdivision of part of the
North Half of Fractional Sections 35 and 36 in Township
45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
lying West of the Fox River, according to the Plat thereof
recorded April 12, 1922 as Document No. 54652 in Book
4 of Plats, page 54, in McHenry County, Illinois, together
with any unannexed roadways which may be situated
abutting the premises.
THIS ORDINANCE of annexation shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval, and after the recordation of
this ordinance, together with the Plat depicting the premises as described
herein, and accompanied by the required affidavit in regard to notice
being given to the Trustees of the McHenry Fire Protection District, and
the subsequent filing of a true and correct copy of this ordinance and Plat
with the County Clerk of McHenry County, all as by law provided.
The annexation of these premises is hereby effected upon proper
motion being made, seconded and passed, on this 21st day of September,
1970.
