R-01-006
Resolution recognizing the efforts of the
Major Investigative Assistance Team
WHEREAS, the impact and challenges of criminal activity in our society have no regard for political or
jurisdictional boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the tradition of law enforcement officers and their agencies coming to the assistance of
fellow officers and departments in times of need is a cornerstone of the law enforcement profession; and
WHEREAS, the Men and women of the Major Investigative Assistance Team of McHenry County
have lent their expertise, placed their duties above their personal interests and comfort, and worked countless
hours to benefit the people of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the governmental bodies that employ those officers have selflessly furnished them to the
people of McHenry to ensure the safety of our community; and
WHEREAS, the Men and Women of the Major Investigative Assistance Team are a credit to their
profession, the communities they serve, and their local law enforcement agencies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council and the Citizens of the City of
McHenry wish to go on record and recognize and thank the men and women who responded to McHenry's call
for assistance.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of McHenry wishes to recognize and express our
gratitude to the home agencies, elected officials and department heads for selfless and tireless cooperation and
performance of duties while these officers were assigned to the Major Investigative Assistance 'Team during
March and April of 2001.
AND FINALLY, BE IT RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into the minutes of this
meeting and that a copy be presented to the Major Investigative Assistance Team.
