ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS
TO THE CITY OF McHENRY
WHEREAS, certain large tracts, parcels and subdivided lands
have recently been annexed to the City of McHenry, and
WHEREAS, such annexations have resulted in the creation of
pockets of land, plots, tracts, and subdivided areas, all being completely
surrounded by existing corporate property, and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interests of the residents of
the City of McHenry and of the areas so surrounded to make them a part
of the municipal corporation by reason of better exercise of the police
power, maintenance, and other municipal functions thereby being per-
mitted to be applied efficiently and economically to the existing and
proposed new corporate areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of
the City of McHenry, Illinois, that the following described lands be and
hereby are annexed to the said City of McHenry in compliance with the
statutes of the State of Illinois, as revised, Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13;
Lots 3 and 4 and all those parts of Lots 5 and 6 not
presently included within the corporate limits of the
City of McHenry in First Addition to Cooney Heights,
a Subdivision of part of the North Half of Section 34,
Township 45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, according to the plat thereof recorded March
2, 1953, as Document No. 262629, in Book 11 of Plats,
page 71, in McHenry County, Illinois.
Also:
Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, and Lots 32, 33, 34,
35, 36, 37 and 38, and all those parts of Lots 10, 11,
12 and 30 and 31 not presently included within the corporate
limits of the City of McHenry in Cooney Heights Subdivision,
a Subdivision of part of the North Half of Section 34, Town-
ship 45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
according to the plat thereof recorded December 27, 1950,
as Document No. 238784 in Book 11 of Plats, page 19, in
McHenry County, Illinois.
Also:
Lots 1 and 2 in Kelter Estate Subdivision, Unit No. 1, a
_ Subdivision of part of the North Half of Section 34, Township
45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian,

as Document No. 218953, in Book 10 of Plats, page 112,
in McHenry County, Illinois.

All of Lots 20, 21, 22 and 23 of the County Clerk's Plat
of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of
Section 27, Township 45 North, Range 8 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in McHenry County, Illinois.
Also:
All of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 in Shady Crest Subdivision, being
a Subdivision of part of the Northwest Quarter of the South-
east Quarter of Section 27, Township 45 North, Range 8
East of the Third Principal Meridian, according to the Plat
thereof recorded June 13, 1957 as Document No. 324222,
in Book 13 of Plats, page 28, in McHenry County, Illinois.
Also:
All of Block 1, Block 2, Block 4, Block 5, Block 6, Block
7, Lot A, and Lot 19 in Block 3 of Lakeland Shores, Unit
No. 3, being a Subdivision of the North Half of the South-
west Quarter of Section 27, Township 45 North, Range 8
East of the Third Principal Meridian, according to the Plat
thereof recorded April 25, 1958, as Document No. 337444
in Book 13 of Plats, page 55, in McHenry County, Illinois.
Als o:
That part of Section 28, Township 45 North, Range 8 East
of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the East line of said Section
28 with the Southerly right of way of State Route 120; thence
Northwesterly along the Southerly right of way line of said
State Route 120, a distance of 247. 3 feet; thence South-
westerly at right angles to the last described course, a
distance of 20. 0 feet; thence Southeasterly parallel with
the Southerly right of way line of said State Route 120, a
distance of 60. 0 feet; thence Southwesterly at right angles
to the last described course, a distance of 150. 0 feet;
thence Southeasterly parallel with the Southerly right of way
line of said State Route 120, a distance of 229. 24 feet to the
East line of said Section 28; thence Northerly along said
East line, a distance of 206. 0 feet to the place of beginning,
in McHenry County, Illinois.
None of the above individual parcels, and no combination of any
of the above contiguous parcels, is in excess of sixty (60) acres in area.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that all of the premises herein
described be and hereby are classified "R-1" Single Family District,
under the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry as
passed and approved on the 12th day of March, 1962, as amended on the
30th day of April, 1966, and as subsequently amended.

This ordinance of annexation shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval by the City Council of the City
of McHenry; after the recordation of this ordinance and the plat depicting
the premises as described herein; the required affidavit in regard to
notice being given to the Trustees of the McHenry Fire Protection
District, being recorded; and, finally, with the filing of a true and
correct copy of this ordinance and plat with the County Clerk of McHenry
County, all as by the statutes of the State of Illinois being provided.
This annexation is effected upon proper motion being made,
seconded and unanimously passed on this 3rd day of July, 1967.
