1965 Election Ordinance

BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry,
that:
Section 1. There shall be a regular election of officers in the
city on the 20th day of April, 1965.
Section 2. At such election, there shall be elected a mayor,
four aldermen, City Clerk, City Treasurer each for a four year term,
with the exception of the newly formed Ward No. 4 where two aldermen
are to be elected, one alderman in this ward to serve a four year term
and one alderman to serve a two year term, said terms to be determined
by lot in the manner prescribed by statute. It shall be the duty of the
City Clerk to see to the preparation of sufficient ballots for the
election, and to cause a sample of such ballot to be published prior to
the day of election in a newspaper of general circulation published in
the city, and to be provided the necessary election supplies for each
voting district or ward.
Section 3. At least fifteen (15) but not more than thirty (30) days
before the election, the Clerk shall cause to be published in such news-
paper a notice of election, which shall be substantially as follows:
NOTICE OF ELATION
On the 20th day of April, 1965, there will be a regular election
in the City of McHenry to elect: A Mayor, four aldermen, City
Clerk, City Treasurer each for a four year term, with the excep-
tion of the newly formed Ward No. 4 where two aldermen are to be
elected, one alderman in this ward to serve A four year term and
one alderman to serve a two year term, said terms to be determined
by lot in the manner prescribed by statute.
The wards and polling places for such election shall be:
Ward No. 1.
Polling Place: City Hall, 1111 N. Green St., McHenry, I11.
Ward No. 2.
Polling Place: Clark Chevrolet Sales, 908 N. Front St., McHenry, I11.
Ward No. 3, 3
Polling Place: Europa Motor Sales, 3?18 W. Pearl St., McHenry, Ill.
Ward No, 4.
Polling Place: Buss Ford Sales, 3936 W. Main St., McHenry, I11.
Polls shall be open from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. Central Standard Time.

Section 4. The wards or voting districts for such election and the
polling places shall be those designated in the preceding section.
Section 5. The judges of election shall be such as shall be here-
after designated by the Mayor and City Council to serve as election
officials.
Section 6. The said election and all matters pertaining thereto
shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by statute for the conduct
of a regular election for City officers.
