AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING LANDS TO THE CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the revised statutes of the State of Illinois,
Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13, empower a municipality to annex any
territory containing sixty acres or less which is wholly bounded by a
municipality, and
WHEREAS, recent annexations have caused the premises
described as follows:
Lots I through 10 inclusive in Block 1, Lots 1 through
10 inclusive in Block 2 and all of Block 3 in Hanley's
3rd Addition to West McHenry, being a subdivision of
part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 34 and part
of the Southeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 45
North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
according to the plat thereof recorded January 22,
1913 as Document No. 24295 in Book 3 of Plats at
page 44, McHenry County, Illinois,
to become completely surrounded by corporate territory of the City of
McHenry, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to the best interests of the citizens
of McHenry and to the municipality as a whole to avoid creation of
pockets within the municipal limits of the City of McHenry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council
of the City of McHenry that the premises described as follows:
Lots 1 through 10 inclusive in Block 1, Lots 1 through
10 inclusive in Block 2, and all of Block 3 in Hanleyts
3rd Addition to West McHenry, being a subdivision
of part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 34 and part
of the Southeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 45
North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
according to the plat thereof recorded January 22, 1913
as Document No. 24295 in Book 3 of Plats at page 44,
McHenry County, Illinois,
be, and hereby are, annexed to the City of McHenry.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its
