AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ZONING CLASSIFICATION
WHEREAS, a petition was filed before the City of McHenry
Zoning Board of Appeals by the McHenry Savings and Loan Association,
which petition stated that Petitioners property was in a "B-1" area,
use of which is presently controlled by the Zoning Ordinance of the
City of McHenry under Article IX thereof, and
WHEREAS, one of the permitted uses under the said Ordinance
as now in effect permits the establishment of "Banks" under A. 1. (a),
and
WHEREAS, nowhere is a savings and loan association listed as
a permitted use in the existing Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the petition requests that the Ordinance be amended
by adding the following language under A. 1. (a):
"Banks, savings and loan associations, and other
financial inElitutions. "
WHEREAS, a hearing was had pursuant to the requirements of
the Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry before the Zoning Board
of Appeals, said hearing resulting in a recommendation to this Council
by the Zoning Board of Appeals to grant the prayer of the petition.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of
McHenry that the Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry
be, and hereby is, amended as follows:
ARTICLE IX. "B-l" COMMERCIAL RETAIL DISTRICT.
A. Permittid uses:
T.---[-aT Banks, savings and loan associations,
and other financial institutions.
It was so moved by Conway and seconded by Bolger.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Conway, Etten, Huck, Pitzen & Smith.
Voting Naye: None.
Absent: None.
