HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - O-60-24 - 11/21/1960 - POLICE MAGISTRATE0-0/0-cpy AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING POLICE MAGISTRATE WHEREAS, the statutes of the State of Illinois, as revised in 1959, Chapter 24, Sections 9-73, 9-73. 1, 9-73. 2, and 9-74, do provide for a change in regard to police magistrate of an incorporated city, and WHEREAS, it is deemed in the best interests of the public safety and welfare that an ordinance be adopted by the City of McHenry in compla.nce with the statutes as revised, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of McHenry, Illinois, that there be, and hereby is, created the office of police magistrate under the provisions of Section 9. 73 as referred to herein, and the salary of such police magistrate is hereby fixed in the sum of I One Thousand Eight Hundred 4$1, 800. 00) Dollars per year for each year Ij of his elected term, said salary to be paid in quarterly installments in ` I the same manner and at the same time as reimbursement shall be made to other City officials. ` BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the expenses of the police magistrate in carrying out the duties of his office shall be paid by the City, and such expenses shall be limited to stationery, supplies, and other incidental and approved expenses, such as clerical assistance or office space, provided, however, that all such expenses as shall be paid by the City shall be at the discretion of the City Council and all payments so made must be first approved by the Council at any regular or special meeting thereof.
