ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 15 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE CITY OF McHenry

WHEREAS, it is deemed by the City Council of the City of
McHenry to be necessary to the public health and welfare to regulate the
method and means of garbage and refuse pickup and transportation with-
in the corporate limits of the City of McHenry.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED that the Said Article III of Chapter 15 of the
revised Ordinances of the Municipal Code of the City of McHenry be and
hereby are amended by adding thereto the following:
383-a)
(1) All operators of refuse, waste material, and
garbage disposal vehicles, who shall desire
to haul over the streets of the City, shall
transport or convey such refuse, waste
material, or garbage, whether picked up
within or without the corporate limits, in
a vehicle equipped with a water tight box
which shall be provided with a tight cover
and shall be so operated as to prevent offensive
odors escaping therefrom and refuse being
blown, dropped, drained, or spilled therefrom.
(2) Penalties - Any person, firm, or corporation
violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in an
amount not exceeding $ 25. 00 . Each day
such violation is committed or permitted to
continue shall constitute a separate offense
and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
This amendment shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval and publication according to law.
