HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - O-53-14 - 09/22/1953 - NAME CHANGE CANAL STREET TO CLEARBROOK DRAN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF CANAL STREET TO CLEARBROOK DRIVE WHEREAS, over sixty percent of the property owners abutting CANAL STREET, in Mill Stream Park Addition to the City of McHenry, have petitioned the City Council of the City of McHenry, Illinois, to change the name of said CANA], STREET to CLEARBROOK DRIVE; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of McHenry, by and through the powers vested in it. under Chapter 2h, Section 23-26, has the authority by ordinance to effect such name change upon the petition of at least sixty percent of the abutting owners; NCW THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of McHenry, Illinois that said CANAL STREET be henceforth known as, and the name is hereby changed to CLEARBROOK DRIVE. As you can see, the statutory requirements for naming or changing of the name of any street is found in Chapter 24, Section 23-26 of the Illinois Statutes.
