AN ORDINANCE C ONIC ERNIIIG THE ESTAB LISHfu'FNI•
OF A PUBLIC LIBRARY IN THE CITY OF MCIMMY
AND AIJTHORIZING THE LEVY OF A TAX FOR THE MAIN-
TRUME THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of McHenry, McHenry
County, Illinois, as follows, to -wits
SMTION I. That the public interest of the City will be served by
establishing a ]?ublic Library in the City of McHenry in accordance with
Chapter 81, paragraph one (1), of the Illinois Revised Statutes.
SECTION II. That the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council., shall
proceed to appoint a board of nine (9) Directors for the said Public Library
one-third (1%) of whom shall hold office for one year; one-third (113) for two
years, and one-third (113) for three years from the first of Tuly following
their appointment and at their first regular meeting shall cast logs for their
respective terms.
SECTION III. All ordinances heretofore passed in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SFLTION IV. This Ordinance shall take effect frcm and after its passage and
approval according to law.
