R-00-033
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry endeavors to assure the health, safety and
livelihood of the citizens of its community; and
WHEREAS, the City has adopted the DARE Program which supports the
community education and awareness of the danger and ramification of consuming
alcoholic beverages; and
WHEREAS, the McHenry Police Department enforces the State of Illinois Rules
of the Road in the City of McHenry, and has supports the State Statute which prohibits
driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcoholic beverages; and
WHEREAS, Officer Mary Lee Eschbach of the McHenry Police Department has
exhibited professional excellence in apprehending more than 20% of those drivers
arrested by the City of McHenry officers who have violated the provisions of the State
Statute as it relates to driving under the influence of alcohol; and
WHEREAS, Officer Eschbach has been commended by the Alliance Against
Intoxicated Motorists, and has received the Achievement of Distinction for her exemplary
performance in arresting drivers who are under the influence of alcohol in the City of
McHenry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of McHenry go on
record as recognizing the dedication, perseverance and fortitude of McHenry Police
Officer Mary Lee Eschbach.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be incorporated into the
minutes of this meeting and be presented to Officer Eschbach on behalf of the residents
of the City of McHenry.
