AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7-3 OF THE
MCHENRY MUNICIPAL CODE
IN REGARDS TO FEES FOR PLUMBING
PLAN REVIEWS AND INSPECTIONS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of McHenry, Illinois, is authorized to
establish appropriate fees and charges pertaining to building plan review and
inspection services provided by the City; and
WHEREAS, in order to off -set the costs incurred by the City for the provision
of specific plan review and inspection services for plumbing, it has been determined
that revised building fees and charges are necessary and appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the
CITY OF MCHENRY, McHenry County, Illinois as follows:
SECTION 1: That Subsection A (1), entitled, "Residential Construction," of
Section 7-3, entitled, "Permit fees established, penalty fee," of the McHenry
Municipal Code shall be, and it hereby is amended and shall hereinafter be and
read as follows:
(a) NEW CONSTRUCTION (single family, 2-family, multi -family): $0.18
per square foot, plus the following plumbing review/inspection fee:
Single family dwelling: $80
2-family or multi -family dwelling: $60 per unit, plus $20 per
building
(b) ADDITIONS: $0.18 per square foot, with a minimum fee of $30, plus a
plumbing review/inspection fee of $40 plus $1.50 for each plumbing
fixture.
(c) REMODELING: $0.18 per square foot, with a minimum fee of $30,
plus a plumbing review/inspection fee of $40 plus $1.50 for each
plumbing fixture.

SECTION 2: That Subsection B (1), entitled, "Non -Residential Construction,"
of Section 7-3, entitled, "Permit fees established, penalty fee," of the McHenry
Municipal Code shall be, and it hereby is amended and shall hereinafter be and
read as follows:
(a) NEW CONSTRUCTION:
First 200 square feet: $225.00.
201 square feet to 20,000 square feet: $0.06 per square foot.
20,001 and over: $0.03 per square foot.
Plus a plumbing review/inspection fee of $175 plus $1.50 for each
plumbing fixture.
(b) ADDITIONS: $0.18 per square foot, with a minimum fee of $45, plus a
plumbing review/inspection fee of $70 plus $1.50 for each plumbing
fixture.
(c) REMODELING: $0.18 per square foot, with a minimum fee of $45,
plus a plumbing review/inspection fee of $71) plus $1.50 for each
plumbing fixture.
SECTION 3: That Subsection C, entitled, "Re -inspection Fee — After Second
Failed Inspection," of Section 7-3, entitled, "Permit fees established, penalty fee," of
the McHenry Municipal Code shall be, and it hereby is amended as follows:
C. RE -INSPECTION FEE
Plumbing: $20 for each residential re -inspection
$35 for each non-residential re -inspection
All Others: $25 after second failed inspection
SECTION 4: If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, sentence, or
provision of this ordinance shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction
to be invalid, such judgement shall not affect, impair, invalidate or nullify the
remainder thereof, which remainder shall remain and continue in full force and
effect.
SECTION 5: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 6: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on September 1,
1999, and upon its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form (which
publication is hereby authorized) as provided by law.
