WHEREAS, David E. Huff was employed by the City of McHenry as a Public
Works Street Division Maintenance Worker on September 26, 1989; and
WHEREAS, he was a loyal hardworking employee during his tenure with the
City of McHenry from September 1989 through December 10, 1999; and
WHEREAS, he operated the City's street sweeper and was recognized by the
community -at -large, including every child under the age of ten, who acknowledged his
presence with a wave and a shout; and
WHEREAS, Dave was known for his love of sports, family, friends and life; and
WHEREAS, he could not wait for the softball season to begin each spring, and
encouraged his fellow workers to participate, stay fit, and enjoy the camaraderie of team
sports; and
WHEREAS, Dave passed away on March 31, 2000, following an intense struggle
with cancer, and the City of McHenry would like to recognize his faithfulness,
dedication, positive mental attitude and joy for living life to its fullest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of McHenry go on
record as recognizing David E. Huff and hereby naming a Knox Park Ballfield in his
honor, namely the David E. Huff Field.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be incorporated into the
minutes of this meeting and be presented to Cindy Huff at the Annual Employee
Appreciation Picnic on July 8, 200-
