RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Kenneth J. Prazak was hired as Patrolman for the City of McHenry Police
Department on June 12,1972, was promoted to Sergeant on December 26, 1986; and
WHEREAS, he has made every effort to provide the citizens of McHenry quality Police
Protection and has performed his duties with diligence, loyalty and professionalism; and
WHEREAS, he was recognized for his valiant efforts as one of three officers who responded
to a building fire at Irish Prairie Complex, entered the burning building and through quick thinking
and heroic action, assured that all residents were able to leave the building safely; and
WHEREAS, he has served the City of McHenry in his capacity as Police Officer with strength
of character, discipline and dedication, and has acted in all matters with the welfare of the City
uppermost in his mind and has tendered his resignation effective June 23, 2000; and
WHEREAS, he can look back with pride on his contributions and accomplishments while
serving the City of McHenry Police Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of McHenry go
on record as recognizing the twenty-eight years of contributions and accomplishments of Kenneth
J. Prazak and expresses its appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the citizens of McHenry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be incorporated into the minutes of this
meeting and that a copy be presented to Kenneth J. Prazak.
