Resolution
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois has developed an Adopt -A -Street Program to recognize
and assist with the beautification of Illinois highways, streets and roadways; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry supports the State's effort to improve the appearance
of the State of Illinois public roadways; and
WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council recognizes the need for aesthetically pleasing,
clean and litter -free streets, roadways and highways in the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the City has approved the passage of an Adopt -A -Street Program to assist in
keeping the public right-of-way litter -free; and
WHEREAS, the Catholic Order of Forresters have adopted a portion of Riverside Drive
from McCullom Lake Road to the end of the City limits; and
WHEREAS, the Catholic Order of Forresters have maintained the public right-of-way of
that portion of Riverside Drive in a steadfast and dedicated manner since April of 1995.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and McHenry City Council go
on record recognizing the efforts of the Catholic Order of Forresters in the Adopt -A -Street
Program,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be incorporated into the minutes of
this meeting and a copy be presented to the Catholic Order of Forresters.
