Resolution
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois has developed an Adopt -A -Street Program to recognize
and assist with the beautification of Illinois highways, streets and roadways; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry supports the State's effort to improve the appearance
of the State of Illinois public roadways; and
WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council recognizes the need for aesthetically pleasing,
clean and litter -free streets, roadways and highways in the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the City has approved the passage of an Adopt -A -Street Program to assist in
keeping the public right-of-way litter -free; and
WHEREAS, the members of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry have
adopted a two-mile portion of Route 31 from Warsaw Inn south; and
WHEREAS, the members of the First United Methodist Church of McHenry have
maintained the public right-of-way of that portion of Route 31 in a steadfast and dedicated
manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and McHenry City Council go
on record recognizing the efforts of the members of the First United Methodist Church of
McHenry in the Adopt -A -Street Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be incorporated into the minutes of
this meeting and a copy be presented to the First United Methodist Church of McHenry.
