AN ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the City of McHenry have
conducted a Public Hearing pertaining to increasing the license fees of those
persons holding a license to own or operate a vending machine or to dispense
goods or services therefrom; and
WHEREAS, Notice of said Public Hearing was mailed at least thirty (30)
days before the aforesaid hearing to the last known addresses of each person
holding a license to own or operate a vending machine or to dispense goods or
services therefrom.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 9-5 of the Municipal Code, City of McHenry, Illinois
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 9-5 LICENSE FEES.
(a.) The annual license fee for each vending machine, juke box or
mechanical amusement device shall be $50.00 per each vending
machine or juke box and $50 per each mechanical amusement device
for the first 20 mechanical amusement devices at one location.
(b.) An Arcade license fee covering all mechanical amusement devices at
one location in excess of 20 devices shall be $200, and shall be
reviewed annually."
SECTION 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of
this ordinance shall be fined not less than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor
more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense committed on each
day during, or on which, a violation occurs or continues.
SECTION 3. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict with the terms
and provisions hereof, be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of
such conflict.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and
under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry,
Illinois.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law.
