WHEREAS, Frances Larsen was one of the prominent founding members of
McHenry Pigtail League in 1975;
WHEREAS, Otto and Frances Larsen were involved in many years of coaching
and volunteering in community youth athletic organizations;
WHEREAS, the Larsen family still supports the McHenry Pigtail League by
sponsoring an "Otto's Girls" team each season;
WHEREAS, this is the 25th anniversary of the founding of the McHenry Pigtail
League;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the McHenry City Council go on
record as recognizing these accomplishments and all the years of dedicated service,
and expresses its appreciation on behalf of the citizens of McHenry. From this day
forward, Field #4 at Petersen Park will be known as "Larsen Field".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be incorporated into the
minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Frances Larsen at the field
dedication ceremony on Friday, May 12, 2000.
