HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - R-00-009 - 04/26/2000 - RECOGNIZE NANCY FIKE RETIREMENT FROM LANDMARK COMMR-00-009 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Nancy Fike was appointed for the fourth time to the City of McHenry Landmark Commission on October 19, 1994 after she successfully resigned in December of 1990; and WHEREAS, she has submitted her resignation for the third time after serving the McHenry Landmark Commission for five years in the capacity of Chairman and Member; and WHEREAS, she has served in his position with dignity, fortitude, integrity, loyalty, dedication and fairness; and WHEREAS, she will be remembered for her dedication, thoroughness and civic interest in fulfilling her duties; and WHEREAS, her persistence in assuring the creation, adoption and implementation of an Historic Preservation Ordinance led to the adoption of the City of McHenry Historic Preservation Ordinance; and WHEREAS, she was instrumental in initiating an update of the Architectural Survey; and WHEREAS, she assured the plaguing of numerous deserving historical structures, augmented the demolition process for historical structures, created a "Walking Tour of McHenry" to edify the community regarding its historical landmarks. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the McHenry City Council go on record as recognizing these accomplishments and expresses its appreciation on behalf of the citizens of McHenry. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be incorporated into the minutes of this meeting and that a copy be presented to Nancy Fike. PASSSED and APPROVED this 2e day of April, 2000.
