AN ORDINANCE RESTRICTING PARKING ALONG ILLINOIS ROUTE 31/120
WITHIN THE CITY OF MCHENRY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois acting by and through its Department of
Transportation is desirous of improving Illinois Route 31/120 between Third
Street and Richmond Road in the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, this project runs through the City of McHenry; and
WHE';E.AS, in order to facilitate the free flow of traffic and ensure
safety 1c, the motoring pi,lic, the City of McHenry determined that park-Inq
along Illinois Route 31/12C shall be prohibited.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, COUNTY OF
MCHENRY, STATE OF ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 13-1217(a) of an Ordinance of the City of
McHenry, Illinois regulating traffic and motor vehicles be and the same is
hereby amended by adding thereto the following additional no parking zone:
(31 ) On both sides of Illinois Routes 31/120 from Third Street to
Richmond Road.
SECT ON 2. That the City Council of the City of McHenry will prohi )it
future parcTing at such locations on or immediately adjacent to Illinois Rcute
31/120 as may be determined and directed by the State of Illinois to be
necessary to ensure the free flow of traffic and safety to the motoring public.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to attach a
copy oTt:his ordinance to the agreement dated November 16, 1988 by and between
the State of Illinois and the City of McHenry.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and aT—tEr pits passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
