.AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
McHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Municipal Code of the City of McHenry,
Illinois, be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following provisions to Chapter 2 as and for
Article VIII thereof:
ARTICLE VIII. PLAN COMMISSION.
SECTION 2-200 CREATION
There is hereby created a Pian Commission of the City
of McHenry which shall consist of seven (7) members.
SECTION 2-201 AUTHORITY
The Plan Commission is hereby vest edl with the power and
responsibility to:
a. Prepare and recommend to the City Council a
Comprehensive Plan and any additional plans for the
development and redevelopment of the City and its
extraterritorial planning jurisdiction.
b. File an Annual Report with the Mayor and City
Council setting forth its transactions and
recommendations.
C. Keep written minutes of its proceedings, which
shall be a public record.
d. Adopt by-laws and any other procedural rules
consistent with this and other City ordinances and
State statutes.
e. Prepare and recommend to the City Council changes
in any City plan or part thereof.
f. Prepare and recommend to the City Council proposals
for specific improvements to carry out City plans.
g. Cooperate with county and regional planning
commissions and other groups to promote coordinated
planning.
h. Recommend to the City Council the employment of
such professional planning, legal_, engineering, or
administrative assistance as is necessary to fulfill
its responsibilities.
SECTION 3. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in
conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be published in
pamphlet form by and under the authority of the corporate
authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
PASSED this 23rd day of May, 1988.
