AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
McHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 13-1220(b) and Section 13-1220(c)
of the City of McHenry ordinance regulating traffic and
motor vehicles be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"(b) Parking spaces set aside for medically
handicapped persons may be occupied by motor vehicles
displaying a State of Illinois medically handicapped
registration plate, or an Illinois Disabled Person
Identification Card issued pursuant to the Illinois
Identification Card Act or a City of McHenry or other
municipal medically handicapped person identification
card; such identificatioin card may be obtained without
charge from the City Clerk upon request supported by
written certification from a medical doctor addressed
to the City of McHenry that the applicant for the card
is a medically handicapped person. The medically
handicapped parking card shall be prominently displayed
on the dashboard of the vehicle, or attached to the
visor thereof, and shall be visible through the front
windshield of the vehicle.
(c) Vehicles bearing the aforementioned medically
handicapped parking cards or registration plates, when
parked in other areas of the City are exempt from any
ordinance imposing time limitations on parking, but are
subject to the provisions of all other parking
ordinances."
SECTION 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less than
Fif-;_y Dollars ($50.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00)
for each offense committed on each day during, or
on which, a violation occurs or continues.
SECTION 3. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in
conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and. the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be published in
pamphlet form by and under the authority of the corporate
authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval
in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
