AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The One and Two Family Dwelling Code,
Edition, 1983, which is adopted as Article V I I I of the
Building Code of the City of McHenry, Illinois, be and the
same is hereby amended as follows:
1. Section R-210.3 of said One -Two Family
Dwelling Code is amended by adding thereto the
following additional language: "Detached garage area
shall not exceed 700 square feet."
2. Section R-210.5 is added to the One and Two
Family Dwelling Code as follows:
R-210.5. No accessory building, excepting a
detached garage, may exceed 300 square feet in area.
No combination of detached garage and other accessory
building may exceed 900 square feet in area.
3. Section R-210.6 is added to the One -Two Family
Dwelling Code as follows:
R-210.6. No accessory building, including a
detached garage, may exceed 17 feet in height; no
accessory building, including any detached garage,
shall have more than 1 story and shall be located at
least 10 ft. from the principal or main building.
SECTION 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less
than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense committed on
each day during, or on which, a violation occurs or
continues.
SECTION 3. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in
conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be published in
pamphlet form by and under the authority of the corporate
authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
