AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The use of timber footings and wood
foundations is hereby prohibited in all construction.
Article IV of Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code, City of
McHenry, Illinois, be and the same is hereby amended by
deleting from the BOCA Basic Building Code, Sections 1007.1
relating to timber footings and Section 1007.3 relating to
wood foundations.
Article VIII of Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code, City
of McHenry, Illinois be and the same is hereby amended by
deleting Section R-302.2 from the One and Two Family
Dwelling Code, and by deleting the words "wood foundations"
from Section R-303 thereof.
SECTION 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less
than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense committed on
each day during, or on which, a violation occurs or
continues.
SECTION 3. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in
conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be published in
pamphlet form by and under the authority of, the corporate
authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
