AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 1. Effective December 31, 1985,
Section 13-204 of "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC AND
MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE CITY OF MCHENRY" shall read as
follows:
"13-204. "License Year or Term." In order to
effect a transition from the calendar year license
term to an annual license term running from
mid -year to mid -year, a license term running from
January 1, 1986 through June 30, 1987 is hereby
established, the license fee of which shall be
computed on the basis of one and one-half times the
fees provided for in Section 13-203. Thereafter,
commencing July 1, 1987, all licenses issued
hereunder shall be annual licenses whose term shall
run from July 1 of the issue year to June 30 of the
following year.
SECTION 2. Payment of License Fees for the 18
month license period commencing January 1, 1986
shall be made from November 1, 1985 through January
31, 1986 and shall be deemed to be past due on
February 1, 1986. All such licenses purchased on
or after February 1, 1986 shall be subject to a
late fee in addition to the applicable fees as
provided in Section 13-203. Such late fee shall be
calculated at the rate of $2.00 per month for each
month, or fraction thereof, and shall be based on
the total number of months or fraction thereof that
said purchase is made after February 1, 1986.
SECTION 3. Effective May 1, 1987, Section 13-205
of "An Ordinance Regulating Traffic and Motor
Vehicles in the City of McHenry" shall read as
follows:
1113-205(a) Payment of license fees for any
license year shall be made from May 1 through
June 30 of the license year and shall be
deemed to be past due on July 1 of the license
year.
(b) All licenses purchased on or after
July 1 of each license year shall be subject
to a late fee in addition to the applicable
fees as provided in Section 13-203. Such late
fees shall be calculated at the rate of $2.00
per month for each month or fraction thereof
and shall be based on the total number of
months or fraction thereof that said purchase
is made after July 1 of each year."
SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less
than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Five
Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense committed on
each day during, or on which, a violation occurs or
continues.
SECTION 5. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in
conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be published in
pamphlet form by and under the authority of the corporate
authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
