AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2 - 7 6 ( B ) of the Municipal Code,
City of McHenry, Illinois be and the same is hereby amended
by adding thereto the following additional paragraph:
"The aforesaid health and accident insurance
coverage shall be subject to a deductible of
$250.00. During any benefit year, the City will
subsidize up to $100.00 of any employee deductible
that is in excess of $150.00, provided, however, that
the total amount during any benefit year that will be
subsidized for any employee's family, including the
employee, shall not exceed $300.00."
SECTION 2. Section 2-76.1(b) (2)(3)(4) of the
Municipal Code, City of McHenry, Illinois be and the same
are hereby amended to read as follows:
(2) After one year of service - a total of two
(2) weeks minus any vacation days accrued during
vacation year and previously taken by employee.
(3) After eight (8) years of service - three (3)
weeks.
(4) After sixteen (16) years of service - four
(4) weeks.
SECTION 3. Section 2-76(C) of the Municipal Code,
City of McHenry, Illinois be and the same is hereby amended
by adding thereto the following additional paragraph:
Regular part-time employees shall be entitled to
four (4) days of sick pay leave, consisting of eight
(8) hours each, with pay for regular rate of straight
time pay received by the employee in the last pay
period immediately prior to taking such sick leave.
Such part-t ime employees shal 1 not be ent itl ed to
accumul ate or bank sick 1 eave from one cal endar year
to the next as in the case of full-time employees.
SECTION 4. Section 2-76 of the Municipal Code, City
of McHenry, Illinois, be and the same is hereby amended by
adding paragraph M thereof as follows:
M. Waiver of Insurance Coverage by Employee.
Any employee shall have the option to waive the right
to receive health and accident insurance coverage
under the terms of this Section. In the event that a
written waiver is filed by such employee in the Office
of the City Clerk, such employee shall be paid by the
City a sum equal to one-half (1/2) of the premium cost
for the insurance coverage that has been waived by
such employee.
SECTION 5. Section 2-80(A)(4) of the Muncipal Code,
City of McHenry, Illinois be and the same is hereby amended
by adding thereto the following additional provision:
Regular full-time sewer plant employees shall
receive a Seventy -Five Dollar ($75.00) per year
allowance for the purchase of work boots.
SECTION 6. Section 2-84.1(A) of the Municipal Code,
City of McHenry, Illinois shall be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
A. The employee must submit a Tuition
Reimbursement Request form to the Department Head and
City Council prior to the enrollment in the course.
Approval of a course by the City Council is dependent
upon: (1) relevance of the course to the employee's
current job responsibilities; (2) the courses offered
by an accredited educational or trade institution and
taken for credit; (3) the course is related to
realistically projected future job responsibilities;
and (4) in the case of policemen, tuition
reimbursement shall be limited to courses which are
mandated by the criminal justice program or are
required as a pre -requisite for such program.
SECTION 7. Section 2-84.1(C) of the Municipal Code,
City of McHenry, Illinois be and the same is hereby amended
by adding thereto the following additional sentence:
Whenever a grade slip is not and cannot be
furnished for any course because no grades are issued
by the instructor, the employee will obtain and submit
written evidence of satisfactory attendance and
completion of such course.
SECTION 8. Article XXIII A of the Zoning Ordinance
of the City or McHenry be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the compensation of the Plan Commission Chairman
to Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per meeting and Plan Commission
members to Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) per meeting.
SECTION 9. Article XXI C(f) _ of the Zoning Ordinance
of the City or McHenry be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the compensation of the Zoning Board Chairman to
Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) per meeting and by Zoning
Board members to Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per meeting.
SECTION 10. Section 18-29 of the Municipal Code, City
of McHenry, Illinois be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:

Section 18-29. Compensation. The members of the Board of Pol-
ice Commissioners shall be paid an annual salary, of Three Hundred
Sixty Dollars ($360.00).
SECTION 11. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict with the
terms and provisions hereof, be and the same are hereby repealed to the
extent of such conflict.
SECTION 12. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by
and under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHen-
ry, Illinois.
SECTION 13. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form, as pro-
vided by law. Sections 1, 2, and 3 shall be in full force and effect from
and after January 1, 1985; Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 shall be in
full force and effect from and after May 1, 1985.
