AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Ordinance regulating traffic and
motor've is es be and the same is hereby amended by adding
thereto the following provisions as and for Sections
13-1217(j) and 13-1217(k), respectively:
Section 13-1217('). The Superintendent of Public
Worts s a erect or cause to be erected signs
reserving exclusive parking for Regional
Transportation Authority busses on the West side of
the Green Street bridge over Boone Creek.
Section 13-1217(k). The maximum time for which any
vehicle shall e allowed to park in the southernmost 4
parking spaces in front of the City Hall is hereby
established at 15 minutes.
SECTION 2. Section 13-1220(a) be and the same is
hereby amended y adding thereto the following additional
parking spaces as parking for medically handicapped persons
only:
(10) The northernmost parking space in front of the
City Hall on Green Street.
(11) South side
of
Main
Street -
the 7th parking
space west
of
Front
street.
(12) South side
of
Main
Street -
the parking space
adjoining
the
street
light
pole at the east
corner of
the
Depot
Hotel at 3941 West Main
Street.
SECTION 3. The City of McHenry Ordinance regulating
traffic and motor vehicles be and the same is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following provision as and
for Section 13-1901.2 thereof:
Section 13-1901.2, )penalty for Illegal Parking in
Hand i7c—apped Zones. The penalty for the ottense of
parking illegally' in a`handicapped parking zone shall be
not less than $50.00 nor more than $500.00.
Section 13-1905 of the City Ordinance regulating
traffic and motor vehicles be and the same is hereby
amended by providing for the settlement of the offense of
` illegal parking in a handicapped parking zone, in violation
of Section 13-1220(a), as follows:
The settlement penalty for said violation shall be
$ 20.00 if paid within 48 hours after the
vio .a M,T30.00 if paid between 48 and 72
hours after t e, vio a ion and $ 40.00 if paid
between 72 and 120 hours after t e vio ation.
SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less
than Twenty-five Dollars t$25.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00) for each offense committed on each day
during, or on which, a violation occurs or continues.
SECTION 5. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in
conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be published in
pamphlet fZ5rm y and under the authority of the corporate
authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 7., This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
