AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 26-17 of Chapter 26 of the Municipal Code, City
of McHenry, Illinois be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following paragraphs as and for paragraphs (d), (e), (f) and (g) thereof,
respectively:
(d) All water service lines having a diameter of 2 inches
of less shall be made of copper, shall consist of a continuous
uncut length of copper pipe between the two terminal ends and
shall be connected with flared couplings at such terminal ends.
The use of sweated joints is prohibited.
(e) All water service lines having a diameter in excess of
2 inches shall be made of cast iron and shall be connected with
push -on or mechanical joints.
(f) All water meters shall be installed with shut-off valves
on both the inlet and on the discharge sides of the meter.
(g) The installation of water meters inside of crawl spaces
is prohibited.
Section 2. All ordinance&and parts thereof, in conflict with the
terms and provisions of this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed
to the extent of such conflict.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by
and under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry,
Illinois.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval as by law provided.
