AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY,
McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2-73 of Chapter 2, Article IV, of the City
of McHenry, Illinois, be and the same is hereby amended by adding
the following as and for paragraph (e) thereof:
(e) The job classifications of Chief
Operator of the Water Department, Chief
Operator of the Sewer Department and
the Building Inspector are salaried po-
sitions and not entitled to receive
paid overtime, except that such overtime
may be paid to them where the work is in
response to an emergency and where the
overtime pay is authorized by the depart-
ment head.
SECTION 2. Chapter 2, Article IV of the Municipal Code, City
of McHenry, Illinois, be and the same is hereby amended by adding
the following thereto as and for Section 2-83.1 thereof:
Section 2-83.1. Job Reduction. A job
reduction is defined as moving to a job
having a lower salary maximum. Where the
job reduction arises at the employee's
request or is the result of poor or un-
satisfactory employee performance, the
employee's salary shall revert to the
compensation rate applicable -to the
lower job classification. Where, however,
the job reduction is for neither of the
foregoing reasons but is brought about by
the City for organizational considerations,
the employee shall continue to receive his
or her former salary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form
by and under the authority of the corporate authorities.
SECTION 4. All ordinances, as parts thereof, in conflict with
the terms hereof, are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication as required by
law.
