AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY,
McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 24-31 of Article II of Chapter 24 of
the Municipal Code, City of McHenry, Illinois be and the same is
hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 24-31. Charge for abatement by city.
When the city has effected the removal of
such obnoxious growth, or has paid for its
removal, the owner of such lot, place or
area, shall be charged for such removal,
on the basis of the total land area con-
tained in such lot, place or area, as
follows:
Number of square feet in lot, place Charge
or area
Under 10,000 $25.00
Between 10,000 and 20,000 30.00
Between 20,000 and one acre in area 35.00
For each additional acre or
fraction thereof 35.00
Said charge shall be due and payable by said
owner within thirty (30) days after a bill
for such charges has been mailed to said
owner.
SECTION 2. Penalty. Any person violating any provision
of this article shall be fined not less than twenty-five ($25.00)
dollars nor more than five hundred ($500.00) dollars. Each day
that such violation exists shall be considered and penalized as
a separate violation.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet
form by and under the authority of the corporate authorities of
the Vt1-1azje .
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force from and
after its passage, approval and publication as required by law.
