HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - MC-79-145 - 04/16/1979 - prohibit parking at Rt 31 and Pearl StMC -79- 144 ORDINANCE FOR REGULAR ELECTION 1979 ELECTION ORDINANCE BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry, that: SECTION 1. There shall be a regular election of officers in the City on the 17th day of April, 1979. SECTION 2. At such election, there shall be elected one alderman from each of four wards, each for a four-year term. The ballot to be used in such election shall be in the form prescribed by statute; and it shall be the duty of the City Clerk to see to the preparation of sufficient ballots for the election, to cause a sample of such ballot to be published prior to the day of election in a newspaper of general circu- lation published in the City, and to provide the necessary election supplies for each voting district or ward. SECTION 3. At least fifteen (15) but not more than thirty 30 days before the election, the Clerk shall cause to be published in such newspaper a notice of election, which shall be substantially as follows: NOTICE OF ELECTION On the 17th day of April, 1979, there will be a regular election in the City of McHenry to elect one alderman from each of four wards, each a four-year term. The wards and polling places for such election shall be: Ward No. 1 Shepherd of the Hills Polling Place Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green Street Ward No. 2 Whispering Oaks Community Polling Place Center (basement), 4513 Front Royal Drive Ward No. 3 City Hall- Municipal Bldg. Polling Place 1111 N. Green Street Ward No. 4 Lakeland Park Community Polling Place House, 1717 N. Sunset Ave. -2- Polls shall be open from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Daylight Savings Time. The wards or voting districts for such election and the polling places shall be those designated in the preceding section. SECTION 5. The judges of election shall be such as shall be hereafter designated by the Mayor and City Council to serve as election officials. SECTION 6. The said election and all matters pertaining thereto shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by statute for the conduct of regular election for City Officers. PASSED: this 2nd day of April, 1979.
