AN ORDINANCE fie_ 76
WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry
are of the opinion that urgent reasons of public health, safety
and welfare exist for this Ordinance to become effective immed-
iately upon its passage and approval.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF McHENRY, COUNTY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 15, Article I of 'the Municipal Code of
the City of McHenry, Illinois, be and it is hereby amended to
read as follows:
5.1 For the safeguard of the public :health, safety and wel-
fare, the Superintendent of Public Works is authorized, from
time to time, to temporarily prohibit the use of water from
the municipal water supply system for the purpose of sprinkling
lawns. Such prohibition shall be in full force and effect
upon: (1) Publication of notice thereof in a newspaper publish-
ed in the City of McHenry, or (2) Service of written notice
thereof by leaving a copy at the users residence with some
person of the family of the age of 18 years or upward, or
(3) Service of written notice thereof by leaving a copy at
the users place of business with some employee or agent of
the user, or (4) Receipt of other actual notice of such
prohibition.
SECTION 2. Any person, firm or corporation violating any pro-
vision of this article shall be fined not less than $5.00 nor more
than $200.00 for each offenses.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be In full force and effect
immediately upon the passage and approval.
