AN ORDINANCE
F~ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
McHENRY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
Section 1. Section 4 of Article I of Chapter 15 of the
Municipal Code of the City of McHenry.. Illinois, be and
the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Connections. No connection with a water main shall
be made without a permit being issued and twenty-four hours
notice having been given to the City Clerk. All such con-
nections shall be made under the supervision of the Super-
intendent; of Public Works, and no connection shall be
covered until the work has been inspected by him. Appli-
cation for permits to make such connections shall be made
to the City Clerk.
The: following fees shall be charged for permits to
connect to the City Water System:
SIZE OF WATER LINE
3/4 inch diameter, or less
1 inch diameter
1 1/4 inch diameter
1 1/2 inch diameter
1 3/4 inch diameter
2 inch diameter
2 1/4 inch diameter
2 1/2 inch diameter
3 inch diameter
4 inch diameter

A $50.00 fee shall be charged for each connection for fire sprinkler
or fire resevoir systems provided that such water shall not be used
for human consumption.

Section 2. Section 19 of Article III of Chapter 15 of the
Municipal Code of the City of McHenry, Illinois, be and the
same is hereby amended to read as follows:
19. RATE. The quarterly rates which shall be
paid by each person using the city water of the
City of McHenry Water Works through a meter, shall
be as follows:
For the first seven thousand
(7,000) gallons or fraction
thereof $4.50
For each succeeding 1,000
gallons or fraction thereof $ .65
Section 3. Section 5 of Article XI of Chapter 16 of the
Municipal Code of the City of McHenry, Illinois, be and the
same :is hereby amended to read as follow;:
5. Sewer Rental Charge - Rates. There shall be and
there are hereby established the following rates or charges
for the use and service of the sewer system of the City of
McHenry, in each three month period:
Single family dwelling unit
Laundro-mats that do not
use city water
All other users that do not
use city water
All other users shall be
charged a sum which shall be
equal to 20% of their respective
city water bill for that quarter
provided however that the minimum
charge shall not be less than
$6.00 per quarter.

Section 4. All Ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with
the provisions of this Ordinance, be and the same are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
