AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF McHENRY. ILLINOIS
I
WHEREAS, the statutes of the State of Illinois, Chapter 24,
Article 7, Division 1, Section 7-1-47, extend the authority to the
municipality to provide for annexed territory being automatically
classified under the highest and most restrictive use as established by
the Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry, and
WHEREAS, it is to the best interests of the citizens of the
City of McHenry to so protect property values;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council
of the City of McHenry that Article II of Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code
of the City of McHenry be and hereby is amended by adding thereto the
following:
Article II. Paragraph 12.
12. From and after the 5th day of June, 1967,
any territory annexed to the municipality
through any of the annexation methods as
provided by the statutes of the State of Illinois
shall be automatically classified "R-1" Single
Family District, as such district is established
and set forth in Article V of the Amended
Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry,
and all applicable rights and restrictions as
set forth in said Article shall apply thereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a true and correct copy of
this amendment to the Municipal Code of the City of McHenry shall be
inserted and affixed on page 11 of all copies of the Amended Zoning
Ordinance of the City of McHenry which shall be distributed hereafter.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval, as by statute provided.
