ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR PARALLEL PARKING
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry did, on the .f day- of
> i 19_, adopt a resolution providing for a joint
City -State improvement along S. B. I. Route 20 ( Illinois Route 120)
State Section (14, 14X and 14W-2) RS and S. B. I. Route 61 ( Illinois
Route 31) State Section ( 112 and 112 EXT. ) RS, City Section 13 CS,
and
WHEREAS, the provisions of said resolution require this
Council to adopt and put into effect an Ordinance requiring parallel
parking within the limits of the improvements as set and defined in
said resolution, and
WHEREAS, the said resolution does further provide that this
Council will adopt and put into effect an Ordinance prohibiting the
discharge of sanitary sewage and industrial waste water into any storm
sewers constructed as a part of the aforesaid improvement, and
WHEREAS, it is important to the best interests of the City that
the improvements contemplated by such resolution be constructed and
maintained.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that from and
after the effective date of this Ordinance it shall be
illegal to park in any other manner except parallel to
the right-of-way line of Illinois State Route 120 (Elm
Street) from its intersection with Illinois State Route
31 on the West, to its intersection with the right-of-way
of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, and it shall
be illegal to park in any other manner than parallel
along Illinois Route 31 (Front Street) from its intersection
with Illinois State Route 120 (Elm Street) Southerly to the
intersection with the North line of John Street.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that from and after the
effective date of this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful for
any person, firm, or corporation to discharge sanitary
sewage or industrial waste water into any storm sewers
which shall be constructed as a part of the improvement
jointly undertaken by the City and the State of Illinois
and identified herein.

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect within ten (10) days
after its adoption, promulgation and publication as by the statutes of
the State of Illinois made and provided.
