AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
I
McHenry, Illinois, that
Paragraph 20, Article III, Chapter 15, of the Municipal
Code of the City of McHenry, Illinois,

be and hereby is repealed in its entirety.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Municipal Code of the
City of McHenry, Illinois, be and hereby is amended as follows:
Chapte r 15.
Article III.
Paragraph 20.
BILLS. All meters shall be read quarterly and the
said charge shall be paid by the consumer quarterly.
All water rates shall be collected by the City Clerk
except as hereinafter provided and all persons or
corporations shall pay their bills for water consumed
on or before the 20th day of the months of February,
May, August and November; payment of bills for such
quarters after the 20th day of said months shall subject
the user to a penalty of ten (10%) per cent of the amount
of the unpaid bill, with a minimum penalty of twenty-
five (25�) cents, and this penalty shall be collected
as a part of the bill.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten days after
its passage and publication as by statute provided.
Passed and approved this 27th day of April, 1961.

It was called to the attention of the Council by City Attorney Looze
that an error had been made in the Municipal Code in respect to Chapter
15, Article III, paragraph 20, in that the 2010 discount provided in said
paragraph should not have been included. Looze pointed out that the
Ordinances of the City of McHenry had been amended at the regular meeting
of May 7, 1956 whereby new water rates and methods of payment had been
established and that the same rates would have to be continued by reason of
revenue bond commitments.
It was Moved by Bolger and Seconded by Pitzen that the Municipal
Code of the City of McHenry, as passed and approved on the 17th day of
April, 1961, be amended by striking therefrom paragraph 20 of A rticle III
of Chapter 15 in its entirety and substituting therefor the following:
20. BILLS. All meters shall be read quaterly and the said

as hereinafter provided and all persons or corporations shall

as a part of the bill.
