An Ordinance Amending City of McHenry Municipal Code
Chapter 7, Building Permit Extensions
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY,
MCHENRY COUNTY, as follows:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 7 Buildings and Building Regulations Article I In General of
the City of McHenry Municipal Code, shall be amended as follows:
Section 7-3 Permit Fees established, penalty fee for Residential Construction Sub -
Section 7-3(A)(1)(d) be added to provide a fee for permit extensions as follows:
Minor Permit Extension. Minor Permit defined as any permit other than New
Construction, Remodeling or Alteration:
Six-month extension 1 lh times the original permit fee
Major Permit Extension. Major Permit defined as any permit for New Construction,
Remodeling or Alteration:
Six-month extension '/2 the cost of the original building permit fee
One-year extension cost of the original building permit fee
Section 7-3 Permit Fees established, penalty fee for Non -Residential Construction
Sub -Section (11)(1)(d) be added to provide a fee for permit extensions as follows:
Minor Permit Extension. Minor Permit defined as any permit other than New
Construction, Remodeling or Alteration:
Six-month extension 1 '/2 times the original building permit fee
Major Permit Extension. Major Permit defined as any permit for New Construction,
Remodeling or Alteration:
Six-month extension '/z the cost of the original building permit fee
One-year extension cost of the original building permit fee
Section 7-5 Duration of Permit be amended as follows:
Section 7-5(b) delete the last phrase "or a letter of extension from the Community
Development Director is issued" in its entirety;
Add Sub -Section 7-5(c) as follows:
(c) Building Permit Extensions. A building permit extension may be granted by
the Community Development Director subsequent to the payment of the fees
specified in Section 7-3 herein.
Add Sub -Section 7-5(d) as follows:
(d) Into more than one permit extension shall be granted per building permit;
SECTION 10: If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, sentence or provision of
this ordinance shall be adjudged by any Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such
judgment shall not affect, impair, invalidate or nullify the remainder thereof, which remainder
shall remain and continue in full force and effect.
SECTION 11: All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict are hereby repealed to the
extend of such conflict.
SECTION 12: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval
and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
