An Ordinance providing for the amendment to
Chapter 7 of the City of McHenry Municipal Code
regarding elevator standards and inspections
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois,
as follows:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 7, Section 7-51(24) of the City of McHenry Municipal
Code be amended to read as follows:
Sec. 7-51(24) Replace Section 3001.4 Elevators and Conveying
Systems, Section 3001 General, sub -paragraph 3001.2 Referenced
standards with the following text:
"Except as otherwise provided for in this code, the design, construction,
installation, alteration, repair and maintenance of elevators and conveying
systems and their components shall conform to Illinois Elevator Safety Rules,
and ASCE 24 for construction in flood hazard areas established in Section
1612.3".
SECTION 2: That Municipal Code, Chapter 7, Section 7-3(B)(10) Elevator (new
construction) be deleted.
SECTION 3: That Municipal Code, Chapter 7, Section 7-3.1 Elevator/Chair
Lift/Dumb Waiter Inspection Fees, be deleted in its entirety.
SECTION 4: If any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, sentence or provision of
this Ordinance shall be adjudged by any Court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or
nullify the remainder thereof, which remainder shall remain and continue in full force and
effect.
SECTION 5: All ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage,
approval and publication in pamphlet form (which publication is hereby authorized) as
provided by law.
