AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7 OF THE
CITY OF MCHENRY MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have determined that it is in the best
interest of the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of McHenry to adopt
changes in the regulations relating to plumbing inspections in the City of McHenry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Section 7-3.A.(1), RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION, of Article
1, IN GENERAL, of Chapter 7, shall be and hereby is, amended as follows:
(a) NEW CONSTRUCTION (single family, 2-family, multi -family): $0.25 per
square foot, plus the following plumbing review/inspection fee:
Single-family dwelling: $112
Two-family or Multi -family dwelling: $84 per unit, plus
$28 per building.
(b) ADDITIONS: $0.25 per square foot, with a minimum fee of $50, plus a
plumbing review/inspection fee of $56 plus $1.50 for each plumbing fixture:
(c) REMODELING: $0.25 per square foot, with a minimum fee of $50, plus a
plumbing review/inspection fee of $56 plus $1.50 for each plumbing fixture:
SECTION 2: That Section 7-3.6(1), NON-RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION, of
Article 1, IN GENERAL, of Chapter 7, shall be and hereby is, amended as follows:
(a) NEW CONSTRUCTION:
First 200 square feet: $250.00
201 square feet to 20,000 square feet: $0.08 per square foot
20,001 square feet and over: $0.05 per square foot
plus a plumbing review/inspection fee of $215 plus $1.50 per plumbing
fixture.

(b) ADDITIONS: $0.25 per square foot, with a minimum fee of $50 and a
maximum fee of $10,000, plus a plumbing reviewfinspection fee of $86 plus
$1.50 for each plumbing fixture:
(c) REMODELING: $0.25 per square foot, with a minimum fee of $50 and a
maximum fee of $10,000, plus a plumbing review/inspection fee of $86 plus
$1.50 for each plumbing fixture:
SECTION 3: That Section 7-3.C(1), REINSPECTION FEES, of Article 1, IN
GENERAL, of Chapter 7, shall be and hereby is, amended as follows
(1) Plumbing: $28 for each residential re -inspection
$43 for each non-residential re -inspection
SECTION 4: All ordinances of parts thereof in conflict with the terms and
provisions hereof are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and under
the authority of the Corporate Authorities of the City of McHenry, McHenry County,
Illinois.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on May 1, 2004.
