AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY-
VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 8, DEVELOPMENT IN SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD
AREAS
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of McHenry, McHenry County as follows:
SECTION 1: That Section 8-11.1 of Chapter 8 of the City of McHenry Code of Ordinances
is hereby deleted in its entirety.
SECTION 2: That the first paragraph of Section 8-11.0 of the City of McHenry Code of
Ordinances entitled "Variances" in is hereby deleted in its entirety and in lieu thereof, the following
language shall be substituted:
"Sec. 8-11.1 Variances. No variances shall be granted to any development located within a
flood plain unless authorized by the City Council, subject to any conditions, including
requirements for compensatory storage".
