AN ORDINANCE AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE
CITY OF MCHENRY MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have determined that it is in the best
interest of the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of McHenry to adopt
changes in the regulations relating to historic vehicles, bonfire permits and fences in
corner side yards, in the City of McHenry.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That paragraph (b) of Section 7-114, of Chapter 7, shall be and
hereby is, amended as follows:
(b) No fence may be erected closer than thirty (30) feet to a road
right-of-way line, or, at the property owner's option, closer than the
existing building line of the premises; except that a fence in a
corner side yard may be located no closer than five (5) feet from a
corner side lot line, and if the corner side yard abuts the front yard
of another lot, the fence shall have a setback of at least fifteen
(15) feet.
SECTION 2: That paragraph (a) 2. of Section 10-20, of Chapter 10, shall be and
hereby is, amended by deleting the word, "Council" in the third line, and inserting the
word, "Administrator."
SECTION 3: That paragraph (c) of Section 27-1, of Chapter 27, shall be and
hereby is deleted, and existing paragraph (d) of Section 27-1 shall be re -lettered as (c).
SECTION 4: All ordinances of parts thereof in conflict with the terms and
provisions hereof are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and under
the authority of the Corporate Authorities of the City of McHenry, McHenry County,
Illinois.
SECTION 6: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage,
approval, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
